The Audubon Park and Zoological Garden, which sprawls over 58 lush acres of Uptown New Orleans. More than 1,000 varieties of plants combine with 1,800 animals - 419 species - to replicate natural habitats found around the world.
New Orleans' City Park is the fifth largest urban park in America. It is 1,500 acres of magnificent, centuries-old Oak trees, sleepy lagoons, a beautiful public golf course and Botanical Gardens.
The Louisiana Nature and Science Center in New Orleans East is an 86-acre wild-life preserve featuring nature trails (including one accessible to wheelchairs), bird and butterfly feeding areas, a teaching greenhouse, a science museum and a planetarium. It serves as the City's principal resource for environmental information, and runs summer camps for kids.
